Baby shower bingo

Planning a baby shower and looking for a fun activity that everyone can enjoy? Look no further than baby shower words bingo! It’s an easy-to-set-up game, interactive for all ages, and a great way to get guests laughing and chatting. Plus, bingo adds just the right amount of competition without overshadowing the celebration. Here’s how you can set up your baby shower bingo game and a few variations to keep things exciting.

How to play baby shower bingo

Setting up a baby shower bingo game is a breeze. Here’s the basic outline to get your guests marking off those squares:

1. Create bingo cards: Start by creating your custom bingo cards filled with words or phrases related to babies and parenthood. Words like “diaper,” “crib,” “onesie,” and “pacifier” are classic choices.
2. Distribute the cards: Hand out bingo cards to each guest as they arrive or right before you start the game. You can either print the cards yourself or use an online option.
3. Call out words: Use a random generator or simply draw words from a bowl. Announce each word to the group as you pull it, and encourage everyone to mark off their cards.
4. First to bingo wins: Like traditional bingo, the goal is to be the first player to mark off five words in a row (vertically, horizontally, or diagonally). The winner can shout “Bingo!” and receive a prize.

Alternative ways to play baby shower bingo

One of the best parts of bingo is its flexibility. Here are a few twists on the classic game that can make your baby shower bingo unforgettable:

1. Gift-opening bingo

This variation doubles as an activity for guests while the new parents open their gifts. Instead of calling out random words, each square on the bingo card features a common baby shower gift item, like “blanket,” “stuffed animal,” or “baby book.” Guests mark off squares based on the gifts the parents open, adding a fun way to keep everyone engaged throughout the gift-opening.

2. Mommy and daddy trivia bingo

Turn your bingo game into a trivia round by filling the squares with fun facts or questions about the parents-to-be. Guests can mark off squares if they know (or guess) the answer. Questions might include, “Where did mom and dad first meet?” or “What was mom’s first job?” This approach is great for mixing in some storytelling with gameplay.

3. Baby name bingo

Especially fun if the parents haven’t revealed the baby’s name! Populate each bingo card with different names and have guests mark off squares if they hear a name suggested or if the parents give hints about the baby’s name during the shower.

4. Baby shower words scavenger bingo

For a more interactive game, let your guests search around the party space for hidden baby items or symbols corresponding to their bingo card words. Hide small items or pictures of items around the room, and whenever a guest finds an item on their card, they can mark it off. This version of bingo is perfect for outdoor or larger gatherings.
