How to play This or That Bingo

For icebreaker activities: Getting to know each other

1. Create customized bingo cards: Design bingo cards with pairs of contrasting choices, such as ‘Coffee or Tea’, ‘Beach or Mountains’, ‘Cats or Dogs’, etc.
2. Interactive mingling: Give each participant a bingo card and a pen. As they mingle, they must ask others about their preferences for each pair listed on the card.
3. Marking squares: When someone finds a person who prefers one option over the other, they mark that square and write down the name of the person who made that choice.
4. Finding common ground: The goal is to fill a row, column, or diagonal with marked squares by finding people with matching preferences. Once someone achieves bingo, they call it out.
5. Sharing and discussion: After the game, have a group discussion where participants can share interesting or surprising preferences they discovered about each other.

For team-building events: Strengthening bonds

1. Office-friendly choices: Customize bingo cards with work-related choices like ‘Email or Phone Call’, ‘Morning Meetings or Afternoon Meetings’, or ‘Work from Home or Office’.
2. Collaborative gameplay: Encourage participants to find common preferences with as many colleagues as possible, promoting teamwork and communication.
3. Recognition and prizes: Offer small prizes or recognition for those who complete their bingo card first, or have multiple rounds for continuous engagement.

For parties and social gatherings: Fun and laughter

1. Party themes: Tailor the bingo cards to match the theme of the party, such as ‘Cocktail or Beer’ for a bar night or ‘Romantic Comedy or Action Movie’ for a movie night.
2. Lively interactions: Use the game to get guests talking and mingling, ensuring that everyone interacts and gets to know each other better.
