Winter bingo

Ah, winter. A season of snowflakes, hot cocoa, and attempting to build a snowman that doesn’t look like it’s having an existential crisis. As the temperature drops and everyone huddles indoors, there’s no better time to gather ’round for a game of Winter Bingo. So grab your mittens and let’s get to it!

How to play winter bingo

Winter Bingo is a fun and easy game that can brighten up even the coldest days. Here’s how to get started:

• Select your cards: Choose or create bingo cards with winter-themed images like snowflakes, hot chocolate, mittens, and snowmen.
• Distribute cards: Hand out printed cards or send digital cards to your players if you’re hosting online.
• Start playing: Call out winter-themed images randomly. Players mark their cards accordingly.
• Announce a winner: The first player to mark a full row, column, diagonal, or complete card (depending on your rules) shouts “Bingo!” to win.

Enjoy playing and keep the atmosphere cozy and competitive!

Alternative ways to play winter bingo

Looking to mix things up? Here are a few creative twists on the classic game to keep your winter gatherings fresh:

1. Snowman bingo relay:

Divide players into teams. Each time someone wins, their team gets to add a piece to their snowman. The first team to complete their snowman wins!

2. Hot cocoa bingo:

For each bingo square marked, players get an ingredient to build their ultimate hot cocoa (marshmallows, whipped cream, etc.). Complete a row, and it’s time to indulge in your perfect cup.

3. Winter scavenger hunt bingo:

Turn your bingo card into a list of winter items to find around the house or outside. First one to collect all the items and shout “Bingo!” wins a winter treat.

4. Cozy movie night bingo:

Pair your bingo game with a winter movie. Mark off scenes, characters, or phrases as they appear. First to bingo gets to pick the next movie!

5. Snowflake swap bingo:

In this version, players can swap one square on their card with another player’s square each time they get close to a bingo. It adds an element of strategy—and a little friendly competition!

6. Winter charades bingo:

Instead of simply calling out the icons, act them out! Players must guess the winter-themed action or object (like “snowball fight” or “sledding”) to mark their bingo squares. It’s a perfect way to add some laughs and energy to the game.
