Golf bingo

Golf isn’t just about drives, chips, and putts—it’s also full of colorful terms and playful jargon that make the game so engaging. If you’re looking to inject some fun into your golf outing or social event, a golf bingo card is a fantastic way to do it.

Whether you’re a beginner learning the lingo or a seasoned pro who’s heard it all before, this bingo game adds a lively twist to your next round or watch party.

How to play golf bingo

Golf bingo works like traditional bingo, but instead of numbers, each square contains a popular golf term. Here’s how to play:

1. Distribute the bingo cards: Each player gets a card with a randomized layout of golf terms like “birdie,” “mulligan,” “fairway,” or “slice.”
2. Call out terms: A host (or caller) randomly draws and announces terms from a pool. You can use a printable draw sheet or a digital randomizer.
3. Mark your squares: Players mark the term if it appears on their card.
4. Win by completing a pattern: The first player to complete a horizontal, vertical, diagonal, or full-card pattern yells “Bingo!” and wins.

Alternative ways to play

Golf terms bingo can be tailored to suit any group or setting. Here are a few creative variations:

1. Live golf round bingo

As you play a round of golf, mark off terms when they naturally happen—like when someone hits a bunker or uses a divot tool. Great for golf days or tournaments.

2. Golf broadcast bingo

Play while watching a professional tournament. Mark terms as you hear commentators mention them or see them in action on screen.

3. Drinks & bingo social

Combine with a beverage of your choice. Every marked square could be a sip—just make sure to play responsibly!

4. Team bingo challenge

Split into teams. The first team to complete a line wins bragging rights or a small prize.

Tips and tricks for hosting

• Keep it beginner-friendly: Mix common terms with some tricky ones to keep all skill levels engaged.
• Use visual aids: For newer players, include small icons or brief definitions alongside terms.
• Set fun prizes: Golf balls, tees, or a free drink at the clubhouse make great rewards.
• Involve everyone: Make sure non-golfers can participate too by giving context or hints when calling out terms.
