Online play connectivity issues
The usual reasons a player can't join or stops getting calls, and how to fix each one in under a minute.
Updated
Players never need an app or an account. They open the link you shared, type a name and get a card. If that isn't happening, first work out who's affected: one player, everyone, or only people on one network. Keep the original game open while you fix it; starting a new game sends everyone a new link.
Quick checks
- Is the full link being used? The link includes the game code, like …/play?code=ABC123. A link cut off in a chat app won't work. Press Copy again and resend it.
- Is the code right? Codes are 6 characters, letters and numbers. O and 0 look alike, so copying the link beats reading the code aloud.
- Did they enter a name? Players see an "Add your name" box first. Names need at least 2 characters.
- Is the host's call board open? Keep the host tab open for the whole game.
- Is the game full? Free games take up to 8 players, Plus 50 and Pro 200.
- Is the connection blocked? Some school and office networks block live connections. Switching the phone from Wi-Fi to mobile data usually fixes it.
A player stops getting calls
- Ask them to refresh the page. They rejoin with the same name, and called numbers sync back to their screen.
- Phones can pause a background tab to save battery. Keep the game tab open and the screen on.
Still stuck?
- Make sure the browser is up to date. Any recent Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox works.
- Private or incognito mode is fine, but players have to type their name again each time.
- Tell us what happened via Contact: the game code, the device and roughly when.
